- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter

- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Toss apple slices with lemon juice and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, then add brown sugar and heavy cream. Stir until thickened (5-7 minutes).
- Mix in chopped pecans, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
- Layer half of the apple slices in the baking dish, pour half the caramel mixture over them, add the remaining apples, and finish with the rest of the caramel sauce.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until apples are tender. Let cool slightly before serving.
