- Lasagna noodles (traditional or no-boil)
- Ground beef
- Italian sausage
- Ricotta cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
- Crushed tomatoes
- Fresh minced garlic
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat, add garlic and crushed tomatoes, then simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with an egg, salt, pepper, and half of the shredded mozzarella until smooth.
- Start layering: spread some meat sauce on the bottom of the dish, add noodles, half the ricotta mixture, more meat sauce; repeat until all ingredients are used.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil in the last 10-15 minutes to brown the top.
- Let cool slightly before slicing into squares and serve warm.
