Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (1.5 lbs)
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup pure honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, and black pepper until well combined.
- Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of olive oil. Remove chicken from marinade and sear in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Add reserved marinade to the skillet after flipping the chicken, reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.

Keywords: For added spice, consider incorporating chili flakes into the marinade. Substitute honey with maple syrup for a different sweetness profile. Let leftovers cool before storing in an airtight container; they can be refrigerated for up to three days.
