- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces fettuccine or linguine
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter or olive oil. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until they turn pink (about 3 minutes per side).
- Pour in heavy cream while scraping up any bits from the pan. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Mix in drained pasta and reserved pasta water until desired consistency is achieved.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.
